Tips for caring for painting:
Remove light dust from the front of the paintings with a clean pad or glove of velvet or flannel - a material that absorbs dust. The picturesque surface is swept in one direction, the pressure on the surface of the picture should be minimal. It should not be used for this purpose, brushes, merovci, fleytsy, as they can scratch the colourful surface, and in addition, these items do not collect dust and scatter it in the air. You can cause severe damage to the painting, if you allow the paint layer to be wiped with a damp cloth or remove dust with a vacuum cleaner.
On the reverse side of the picture, the dust is removed with the same pads and gloves from velvet and flannel, a flute with a short bristle or a vacuum cleaner. The picture at the same time give a small slope towards the stretcher. Movements on the canvas should be easy, and the brush of the vacuum cleaner should not touch the canvas at all. You can further well protect the painting from dust, completely covering the reverse side of the canvas with cardboard.
In case of heavy pollution, do not clean the painting yourself - this should be done by a specialist.
Removal of soot and soot requires the work of the restorer, and no attempts to remove them on the spot are unacceptable.
If the canvas picture sagged (there were folds or irregularities) - never wet the canvas on the back side with water, this can lead to delamination of the soil of the picture. If you have a modular subframe - carefully knock out the wedges, and if you are deaf, then contact the framing workshop - you will need to drag the picture or replace the old subframe with a modular one.
